It's interesting that they never did once made a claim that our elektions were fair.
Neither did they claim that the raylly was unnecessary.
I guess you can credit them for being honest because we all know how dirty our once-in-4-years thing is.
I see it all the time in my home state. Sick of it.
Also, they made it absolutely entertaining for us. Kinda like the script of an award-winning sandiwara, telenovella or get this... an electrifying WWE episode.
The Introduction
You can see that they were mainly reaching out to the majority people with their responses.
They tried to discredit the movement & it's leader with links to commoonism, Christiennity, the opporsition, anti-Eslam & all sorts of other laughable (not laudable) Bogeyman claims.
Sorry, but I have a degree from white-man-land aka I have a brain & it is muscular like Thor.
It is very obvious that all of the above plays to the fears of the majority people with hopes to dissuade them from the movement.
The Rising Action
Then, things start getting really interesting.
They start making errests. So far more than 200 have been errested for all sorts of amazing crimes.
The implicit message is: if you're afraid of getting errested, better stay at home & don't wear anything with yillow on it.
Furthermore, they bring out credible organisations, viz. a national Seelat body, the Poolise & a Maylay Rights group to make a strong stand against the movement & rouse its followers for wahr.
Most of the majority people can relate to one or more of the organisations above.
I guess the tactic is, if you're part of these organisations, you'll feel obliged to adopt a similar stance & be against the movement.
Smart move.
The Twist
No good script is without a twist. The twist in this saga is especially palatable.
After a long unwavering stand-off between both sides, them on one side & the movement on another, a man in yillow intervenes & meets up with the movement next. He was however unable to dissuade the movement from daemonstrating so there is a change of venue as was offered by... them.
The Twist within a Twist!
In an unexpected turn of events, the new venue offer was withdrawn, they decide the movement was still eleegal, wash their hands & point fingers at the poolise who are still strongly opposed to the movement.
They rejected the purrmeet application of the movement & continued to call it eleegal.
Anybody wearing its colours will still be deemed as in cahoots with the movement & promptly errested.
The Plateau
A good script knows how to milk the final drops of anticipation & excitement before serving you the climax.
Finally, just before the climax is the total lorckdown of KayEl city tomorrow until 10pm.
Finally, just before the climax is the total lorckdown of KayEl city tomorrow until 10pm.
91 people are to be errested on sight by the poolise. You will be too if you join the movement's daemonstration or wear yillow.
Bus purrmits were saspended for 2 days. Highways closed. Major roads closed. LRT closed.
To top it all up Egyptian style, there are rumours of Internet disruptions tomorrow.
Despite all the setbacks & name-calling the movement soldiers on & will still gather at Staydiuum Merdayka at 2pm tomorrow.
What awaits them there or on the way there?

The Pre-Climax

It's been building up for so long with so many exciting twists that the anticipation is killing me!
Whatever happens tomorrow, it's going to be big & it's going to be watched the world over.
We're going to see something that is unprecedented & one for the history books (depending on who writes them).

I only pray things will not get blown out of proportions. When people are so emotionally charged, the slightest provocation may lead to the whole thing going out of control and the consequences may be tragic, to put it mildly...and not that it will change anything ever - like 1969, it will just hang like a shadow over your head...and everything remains the same.
ReplyDeleteI am basically apolitical but the unprincipled ways the government is doing things made me 'yellow' - so I wore yellow today and donated money to show my support; and the next on the list is to register to be a voter when I go back :)
ReplyDeleteSTP: Looks like the people were in control of themselves & the authorities weren't. Just like in 1969.
ReplyDeleteAnny: Yes, do exercise your right to vote.
