Sibu, Song & Kapit Express Boat Schedule

If you are not from the Kapit/Song/Belaga region, chances are you will not be familiar with the schedules of the express boat which are totally essential for travel.
And it gets really frustrating when you want to plan your journey & all you can rely on is the memory of a local who may or may not be accurate.
I sifted through a lot of gunk on the internet before I found a probably reliable schedule at sarawaknews.blogspot.com.

I've printed it out & pasted it on my wall.
Here's a copy of the schedule for your reference.

  5. Admin: Listen closely... This is a big secret of the trade...
I cut & paste from MS Word.
    Now go & make tables.

    Steph: WOW! Really? Where? Why?
I'll most probably be Ketua Pengawas SPM at a Kapit school at that time.
Give me a text or call.

  6. No? With your grad-pay plus all the allowances plus hardship plus warden...wow!!! I don't think I even got half as much all my 30 years of teaching.

Come, come to Sibu... Can always stay at my place again if you're not going to be online much...and you wanna save the money on hotel.

  9. Arthur: I'll be coming down tomorrow bringing some students I'm rewarding for getting A in PMR English.
Looks like I'll be spending most of my time with them. Wish I could go food hunting with the master himself.

Admin: Don't forget to share the information!

Molliesa: Susah nak tahu masa bot tau. Kalau ada jadual senang lagi. Sebab itu saya kongsikan.
    =)

  11. Hi ,

I came accross your blog through google, just wondering is there a website i could access regarding these express boat rate, booking etc? Your help is kindly appreciated.

    Regards

    1. Rates are similar on all boats.
      SIBU-SONG = RM17-25
      SIBU-KAPIT = RM20-30

Unfortunately, these are SMEs who do not have websites. If you would like to book, you'll have to obtain & call the phone number of the specific boat operator.
You could also go to the Sibu wharf to book personally.

Here's a helpful tip: It doesn't matter if you do not get a seat. You can still stand in the boat or sit on the roof at your own risk. You will only be charged the lowest fees for such when the conductor comes around.

    1. I'm sorry. I do not. You should ask a Sibu resident to find out for you.
